30A- Final Reflection

Image result for american psycho

After reflecting on all the assignments we've done throughout the semester, there was one set of assignments that really stuck out to me and that was the elevator pitch assignments. To be honest I didn't do the first one because I didn't really think i'd be good at it and the level of awkwardness was truly repulsive so i decided to take the 0. At the time I didn't know that this assignment would be a recurring one throughout the semester so it didn't really bother me. Once the second one came around I realized that this was something I needed to get over and deal with so I did. After submitting my first elevator pitch i didn't even want to look the comments because of how horrid I'd thought I done. Eventually, I decided to take a peep and to my surprise things werent so bad. Now I know our comments are usually nice towards one another and sometimes too nice, but these were straight up responses. The thing that really helped me out was the fact that people actually agreed with what I was saying they just had some personal insight on how I could make it more marketable just by how I said it. By the time the last pitch came around I was smooth sailing. My confidence was boosted and message was more clear and marketable. Needless to say I think this was my biggest display of of maturity both as a person and an entrepreneur throughout the course.

I think that as for a message to the upcoming students, this really hits the nail. Throughout this class, and life, theres going to be times where youre afraid to fail, its just going to happen. What really separates people is the ability to be okay with that and give it your best anyways. I remember from all of the assignments, books, and lectures that we've read and watched that one word was constantly reiterated and that was failure. In order for one to truly succeed, they must deal and cope with failure. One way or another, its going to happen, but its how your respond to your failure the defines you. Our greatest inventors and entrepreneurs failed numerous times before they became what they are. MY example was minor taste of failure to me but I overcame it and learned to deal with my problem maturely. I cant stay that I have honestly developed an entrepreneurial mindset over the course of four months, but if theres one thing I learned through this course is that dealing with failure is one of the most important parts of developing that mindset, and my example is just proof of me taking ne step closer to achieving it.

29A- Venture Concept 2

Image result for wolf of wall street

For my second venture concept I decided to broaden my focus group on people of all ages as opposed to focusing only on college kids like I did in my first venture. My second concept is making game-day t-shirts for gator fans. Everyone likes having a go-to shirt to wear when their beloved gators are playing a team. But the twist on my concept is that instead of it just being normal gator apparel, our shirts would have some sort of funny image or dialogue printed on the shirt that would poke at whoever our opponent of that week is. For now, we're solely going to make the shirts for football games only. Each home game we would have fresh printed shirts that would be funny and comfortable to wear. Rough estimate on the shirts prices come out to around $15 which doesn't sound like that much but when you're ordering shirts by the hundreds the profit actually is quite outstanding. The reason I keep say "we" is because me and a fellow friend of mine have already experimented this week game day polos. They were rather expensive and kind of hard to sell but we ended up cleaning-house. I figure that if we market something more affordable and creative we would have much more success.

Unfortunately I didn't submit the last assignment that was similar to this so I didnt receive any feedback to complete the second part of this assignment. However, it doesn't take a genius to guess what some of the negative feedback would be. To the people who think that this could fail because many other people do something similar and that this market is to competitive and cliche, you're absolutely right. Which is why were going to have to rely on better prices and creativeness. Aside from our shirts being that same price or hopefully cheaper, our creativeness on what these shirts say or show are going to determine how our profits will turn out. Im going to have to decide if pushing the envelope is appropriate here so that our shirts really stand out but then again that can defer consumers. The whole business pretty much determines on how clever, witty or creative our product is. If its just another couple of guys selling basic t shirts then our business will crumble.

I look forward to hearing back from you guys on this concept because it will be my first set of feedbacks for this business venture. If their is any ideas you guys have I am more than open to suggestions.

27A- Reading Reflection 3

I chose to do my final reading reflection on "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" by Peter Drucker. The theme of the story lies on 3 main points that the other wants to get across. The practice of entrepreneurship and innovation, and strategies on how to market a successful innovation. In the practice of innovation section the author talks about how small business or "me too" restaurant business are not considered entrepreneurship. He then goes on to explain that entrepreneurship is when a person systematically searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity. he then goes on to give 7 different examples of innovative opportunity. In the second section of the book the author pretty much explains the do and don'ts of entrepreneurship and how to practice and perform correctly. And the third section on entrepreneurial status pretty much speaks for itself. Drucker lists examples of how you can attack the appropriate target market and how you can go about improving the market and blow your competitors away.

The way this book connected with me and this class is the way the author picks a particular market. I chose a market for this class that was in need of innovation which is why it turned about to be successful. He constantly mentions picking markets that are in serious need of change and thats why I thought my venture would be successful. I didn't reinvent anything at all, I just thought of what people my age need (To save money) and paired that with resources that I already had so that I wouldn't have to invest much and worry about losing money.

If I had to design an assignment for this class after reading this book it would be something along the lines of reinventing a existing market that needs serious improvement. I know some people kind of already did this for their venture but I saw a lot of people who completely came up with something new which is fine because thats what this class is about. I would ask the students to pick a market that isn't doing so well and ask him how they would improve it or make it better.

The thing that caught me by surprise was the section in which Drucker talked about small businesses not being considered entrepreneurship. My uncle who is very successful and owns a small business is one hundred percent and entrepreneur in my eyes. I understand where the author was coming from with his comparisons to McDonalds and other major businesses but I don't necessarily  agree with him on his overall belief.

28A- Your Exit Strategy

Ahh yes the exit strategy. I actually thought about this the first day we decided to go through with our venture because I knew our time and opportunity were limited. Unfortunately, the spring 2019 comes to a conclusion so will this particular business venture. I've learned some pretty insightful things over the course of this class that has helped me manage my private business. Of that, the most important attribute was my way of going about things. I was able to help other people save money, while making some extra coin for myself. I think that certain things that I have learned as an entrepreneur who is, currently running his first business, will most certainly help me excel at a higher level and throughout the business world my whole life.

The reason for my strategy is simple. From the beginning I knew that this was going to be a part time gig... But who cares! I got to experience running my own business, make legitimate money, all while pleasing others. It can get much better than that. So, for the time being this has been a very influential and advantageous gig for all of us, but the fact still remains that when I graduate this business will no longer exist.

I think that since I knew going into this I help back on some things or in other words "didn't go all out." Yeah that is something I look forward to doing in the future but this just wasn't the right job to do that. But don't get it it twisted, this was very helpful and fun for me do and is most certainly not meaningless.  I learned all sorts of things and got a taste of the real world a little bit. All in all, I think the format of this semester long assignment was terrific and I hope that the continues to be a requirement for other up and coming entrepreneurs.

26-A Celebrating failure

In the beginning of the year I set a goal for myself health-wise. I started out eating good and working out everyday and was on path to obtaining my goal. Once things settled in and the football games started back up as well as the fraternity I'm in things spiraled out of control. I let my social life take over and my goal is now even further away than it was when I set it back in August. There was a certain physique and overall wellness I set out to reach by Christmas break and now unfortunately I have to admit that instead or progressing I regressed.

Im not surprised at all by my lack of results. If I wanted to reach my goal bad enough I would've but I guess I'm just not at the point in my life. I recognize what I need to do to get there and it involves series life changes. Im back to my original regime and and hoping this time around I stick with the plan. This just shows not only that if you don't take your goal seriously that theres a good chance you won't reach it, but that if you aren't willing to sacrifice certain things in order to gain others you probably won't go anywhere in live. Whether its school, work, or fitness, you have to be willing to adapt and commit to the things necessary to get the task done.

It does suck. My friends will give me shit and tell me how tired they are of hearing me tell them that I'm going to make this change, or reach this goal, and then doing nothing but regressing. Embarrassing, but you should really do it for yourself and thats what I think my problem is. Im more worried about impressing others while I should be trying to impress myself. When that becomes the reasoning behind my goal is the day I really make a difference.

This class has really changed my look on failure in the sense that a lot of my idols failed a lot. Especially as a baseball player growing, failure was the very common in the game. Now as I grow older and my idols become a little more realistic in terms of personal obtainability I see that they failed many times as well in order to reach the levelness of what seems to be superiority in my eyes. If you're not willing to fail then you're not going to succeed. Thats what I'll sum up my perspective of failure in this class with.

25-A

This assignment is kind of tough for me and my current venture because it is very limited. For my time being (1 more year) here in Gainesville I came up with this temporary parking lot venture for this class to make some extra cash. Our lot is pretty much full now and theres nothing else to really do to further this venture. So when I talked to three of my customers they all pretty much told me the same thing. If I really wanted to take this serious I could invest in possible making more room so that I could sell more spots but I wouldn't really make a difference and I don't think our landlord would approve. So, unfortunately for me when my time here at UF is done so will my venture. It'd be pretty sweet if I ended up making a lot of money in this kind of business somewhere else but I just don't see it happening. With my first job already lined up it seems highly unlikely that I would take a turn in that direction but anything could happen,

As for my second venture, while its not a completely different market it definitely targets people of all age as opposed to a very specific focus group like my last venture. Earlier in the year for one of our assignments I hinted at the idea of possibly making gator t-shirts that would have funny captions or sayings that would poke at opposing teams while remaining appropriate. Me and my buddy know some people that could embroider the t-shirts for us for very cheap and make them very profitable. He also told us how much money you could make by selling them in bulk. The shirts would cost roughly $4 a piece per 100 and you could easily sell them for $15 each. We already did a little trial run with gamed polos earlier in the year but they were too expensive which made them more difficult to sell.

I spoke to friends and family and they both told me that my success with these shirts pretty much depends on how funny they are and how good the design is. There's so many people here in Gainesville that make and sell t-shirts which is why we need to make sure we differentiate them from the others. Yeah the design is a huge part but what I and the people who I interviewed agreed that what really matters is the slogan on the shirt. I myself am a victim like many others who have bought a shitty shirt that had something funny either written or depicted on it. People love humor, so I figured why not making something that allows them to support their school while stabbing at their opponents at the same time.

All in all i'm really surprised at the success we've had from our first venture and I hope it carries over into the next. As this semester wraps up me and my buddies are content with our profits and look to expand when we get back from break. Its nice having an income from pretty much doing nothing, but If this shirt gig takes off I'm thinking our profits could triple what we're making right now come spring time. Only time will tell, but thing is for sure and that is that this business is addicting and it drives you to improve especially once you start to make more than you spend.

21A - Reading Reflection No. 2

I decided to do my second reading reflection on the book "Inbound Marketing", written by Brain Halligan and Dharmesh Shah. Inbound Marketing was pretty much a tool guide for marketing strategies and marketing wisdom. Throughout there book there are hundreds of ideas, tools and tips that the reader can apply to their business now or in the future.

What really connected the dots between this books and ENT 3003 was the section called "Watching your competition." It basically talked about how your competition is everything and you always need to stay one step ahead in order to establish your dominance in any industry. The reason my little parking lot gig has been working here in Gainesville is because my competitors won't lower their price to mine. Sure they have a lot more space for cars and they are definitely making a lot more than I am. But It took a ridiculously short amount of time for me to fill up my lot because the customers just couldn't say no to such a low price.

If I had to design an exercise for this class it would probably be something along the lines of talking to your competitors. I think its so important that we recognize who our competitors are and that we should constantly be one or more steps ahead of them. Maybe one of the interviews could be us asking our competitors how they would adapt if we were a serious threat as far as competition goes, to their industry. Im sure their are many tactics you could learn from talking to someone who has to make those decisions for a major company.

I think the thing that surprised me the most from reading the book was how was easy the author made everything sounds. For marketing strategies to business ideas he made it seem like everything was so easy and that anyone could be a millionaire. He rarely talked about how much hard work would needed to be put in for a business to be successful, he just constantly talked about how the entire workforce has changed drastically over the years and offers insight and tips on how to adjust to them and profit from todays social trends.

19-A Idea Napkin No. 2

1.) My name is Ben Rhodes and my plan is to join Sysco food services and begin my journey as a sales rep. My goal is to work my way up through the corporation as quickly as possible and hopefully be the president of one of their locations one day. My Dad has worked there over the years and I hope to follow in his footsteps to get where he's at but quicker than he did. I'm a good salesperson already and work great with people. I'm also good at marketing so with my business concept right now we're already pulling in good coin. If I had the resources (Bigger Lot) there wouldn't be a doubt in my mind that we would expand tremendously.

2.) I am providing the service of cheap parking by opening our lot to do so.

3.) The clientele is pretty specific, and that because all of our customers are students at UF who need close and cheap parking where they can leave their cars or scoots during the day. Its open to anyone who needs a nice close-to-campus parking because thats the reason we decided to do this.

4.) It's not a difficult concept and its easy for the customers to choose. Either you want cheap parking that really close to the main campus and all of midtown or you don't. Theres thousands of people who pay for overpriced parking permits so when some college kids like us need a cheaper place they can select our service instead for a fraction of the price.

5.) The main thing that sets us apart from other places in the area is the low price we offer. We understand how expensive everything is here in Gainesville so we decided to prepare our home to be a local attribute that could potentially help kids save a good amount of money.

Summary: My feedback was good and i'll continue to be open to suggestions from anyone, but most likely this will be a part-time gig. It'd be nice if this thing blew up and we got really rich from this but in reality I think the Sysco route remains the number one choice... for the moment. And the person who replied couldn't agree more and told me how she is constantly frustrated because parking here is so difficult. So it was nice to have someone who completely agrees with what I am doing and encourages me to keep doing what Im doing.

18-A Create a Customer Avatar

My Customer avatar was pretty easy for me to make considering my clientele is very general at the moment. After preparing for our parking lot too open it was time to get the word out. With that being said, where better to announce an idea like this than our fraternity chapter meetings. Yes the avatar is a depiction of what looks like a fraternity guy. We're always trying to help each other out in all aspects of life, and when I mentioned my idea to them several members found this idea useful. We've already got 8 customers who've paid first months fee and all of them are members of the fraternity. Yes, we will diversify as times goes on and all sorts of clientele will flock to our lot. But for the time being, and for the assignment, this is the exact "customer avatar" that would make sense.

As far as my customers traits go we a lot in common (go figure). We all love sports, especially football. Most of them are big Game of Thrones fans. None of them are fathers yet, just about of college kids (19-23) who're enjoying the best years of their lives. But even though we have a lot in common, there is one thing that we couldn't relate more on and that is that we're broke. Surviving on a minimum wage and weekly allowance that keeps bread on the fridge top is the reason that we never hesitate to pass up on a deal that could or will save us money which is why they use our place to park and walk to school. I know this different than what most responses are going to be but this is 100% accurate at the moment

17A Elevator 2

Unfortunately I did not participate in the first elevator assignment and therefor didn't receive any feedback. I know this isn't that good but I couldn't pass up another elevator assignment. Sorry for also no replying with any feedback on the first one but thats the rules so I promise this time i'll give two responses.

16-A whats your secret sauce

It seems that each year in al least one class, their comes a point where your asked to complete an assignment like this. However, it seems to me and maybe some of you that each time something like this is assigned, you kind of stare at the screen a moment and try to grasp exactly how you're going to describe yourself for the assignment, and over the years your self-awareness seems to gradually change.

The first thing I would have to give myself credit for is the ability to alter my personality in different environments. I cant tell you how many times someone has told me how serious I was at work or school, then totally different in a social environment, its almost like I'm two different people they say. I think this is important for everyone to have because like most of us know there is a time and place for everything. The only difference about me is how drastic the change is when it comes to being in two totally different environments. The second point I'll talk about is my demeanor that's changed over the years when facing adversity. I think baseball really played an important role on this because I was a pitcher for 10 years, and if you know anything about pitching one of the most important things is to show no emotion. Not I'm not going to lie and say I get discouraged or flustered if something doesn't go the way I planned, but I definitely have developed my matureness to help me shed light on dark things when they cross my path. It's like as if someone were to get to me emotionally, they would never know because I seem to have the same positive attitude all the time. The third is my humor, I know this is what I consider a serious environment because this is school and I take school very seriously, but If you ever catch me outside of school or work you might say yourself "this guy is funny." I give credit to my parents and mostly my friends for that. Growing up we had something similar to a "Jackass" group and that me and my friends posted on youtube and people thought we were really funny. I was then referenced to a drama teacher who I ended up taking classes with for a couple years in high school. I love making people laugh and sometimes I wish I would've pursued that instead of baseball. O well maybe sometime down the road an opportune moment will present itself and I can take advantage of it. Fourth would have to be my determination. This is something I really took to the next level my senior year. I always considered my self an underachiever in high school and finally became fed up with my lack of motivation half-way through senior year. I started taking school and baseball serious and ended up with a 4.0 the rest of the year and received a scholarship to play baseball at a small school. After I graduated high school I promised myself that I would put a lot more effort into any sort of work I had to do. Even though baseball didn't workout for me, I maintained really good grades and transferred to UF in a year and a half. The fifth and final attribute of mine that I would have to give myself credit for would be the ability to maintain myself as a good person. It seems nowadays their is only so little good in this world and I try remain part of that. It seems somedays that their is so much hate and evil in the world and I try to be the nicest person I can be. Even here in Gainesville, people can be so mean to one another and hate one another and I try everyday to prevent myself from being affiliated with that. They're times when even if someone your dealing with is wrong and you know it, but it takes the bigger person to ignore them and walk away. This is the way I was brought up and it gets really tough sometimes to be a good person or to not let someone get to you, but I must say I am very mature when it comes to taking the high road and I humble myself on that trait.

Now for the interviews I called my mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, and my sister. These five people know me better than anyone else and figured in order to get the most accurate responses i'd interview these being that they know me the best and who would be the most honest.

1.) My Mom
    - I started of by asking my mother what she thought made me different than other people and to elaborate as much as she could on it. She started off by reminding me about how honest I am with her  being that not only is she my mother but also one of my best friends. The reason she finds that this makes me different from (most) others is that its rare to find someone so honest these days. Me and her know things about each other and each others lives that no one else on this earth does. She lists m along with me dad and my sister as the only three people that she can talk to us about anything and know that we're going to be completely honest even if it's not what she wants to hear. My takeaway from this is something I kind of already knew was going to be her answer. I knew that she would say something about my honesty or the comfort we give one another, but I didn't realize how important it was to her. I get my humor from her and me and her joke around about a lot of things but to hear how serious and meaningful it was to her was something that I will never forget.

2.) My Dad
   - My dad is someone who motivates me everyday and it inspires me to be like him both as person and as a successful boss. When I asked him what he thought made me different from others he said my humor. It kind of surprised me because I thought he'd say something along the lines of determination but I was wrong. He proceeded to tell me how upset he would get at me for being such a goofball sometimes but also admired the fact that this was a part of my great personality. He's definitely way more serious than me but he think at times I can be one of the funniest people he knows. He also touched on my versatility, he normally sees me with my friends and my mom joking around but he saw one of presentations I had recorded for a class and was surprised at how business-like and professional I was. I think this hits the nail on what I talked about earlier with the ability to completely change when I'm in different environments.

3.) My Grandpa
     - My Grandpa is someone Is someone I'm always trying to impress. He's a very serious guy who is tough on me and my dad but helps our family out a ton. I wish nothing-less than to make him proud and work everyday to do so. When I asked him what made me different than everyone else it took him a minute to respond (he's 80 years old). What he said made me different from everyone else (more specifically his grandchildren) was my improvement. He said "Son at one point I wasn't sure about you. You were always getting in trouble, arguing with your parents and making bad grades. All the signs of delinquency, and I didn't know if you were ever going to grow up." He then proceeded to tell me how proud he was of me for the baseball scholarship, getting into UF, an just being a good person in general. What I gained from this was even more motivation. The amount of change i've went through over the years is tremendous, but it just makes me hungrier and I want to continue to get better.

4.) My Grandma
   - The most surprising but best answer I got from all of my interviewees. When I asked her the question, she said the way I treat women. I was taken back for a second, not because I thought I treated girls badly or anything, but because I thought there was so many other things she would've said. Anyways, she said she's noticed that not only with family members, but friends and girlfriends of mine, that I treat them with a tremendous amount of chivalry. She went on by saying she knew that I'd be successful in school and other things, but was really happy to see her grandson acting like such a gentleman. She did conclude by saying "Im not sure how you act around them (girls) when you're not around us, but if its anything like I've seen I think you're a role model to be people around you and Im proud that I can say that." It was nice to notice that someone, especially my grandma acknowledged my kindness towards girls. I see so many girls mistreated daily and it makes me sick. I proud myself on this and it meant a lot to have someone call me out for it.

5.)
-My fifth and final interview was between me and my sister. Me and her have a roller coaster relationship over the years so I knew she'd be honest and I was looking forward to what she'd say. When I asked her what was different about me than others she told me my "luck." I thought this was an odd response but told her to elaborate on it. She said she hadn't met someone so lucky in her life, whether it was getting away with things, being at the right place at the right time, or all the scratch offs and raffles I've won. Reflecting on it now, I have to agree with her. As much as I work towards things I Must credit a lot of things in my life to luck. But hey, sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

                                                        Summary

Looking back on what I originally said and what I gained from my interviewees, I must say we agreed on a lot of things. Two things that really surprised me was the my grandmas' response about girls and my sisters response about luck. I guess in response to my grandmas I should continue to make her proud with that, and for my sister, I guess I should acknowledge it more while at the same time try not to push my luck. I wouldn't make any corrections, but the luck thing is certainly something to consider because thats not something you can control. The other things I listed are attainable for everyone, but not luck. Luck is something someone is blessed with, and I'm happy to be  blessed with it. I guess for now i'll just have to enjoy it and hope it never runs out.

13-A Reading reflection

My favorite reading was about Ray Kroc. Aside from the fact that he created the largest restaurant franchise ever, he's determination and motivation to create the empire that McDonalds became is just amazing. What surprised me is that he wasn't the original owner and was sent to help Dick and Mac McDonald spar their business. What I really admired it how he kept things so simple, mainly the menu, and was able to gain this much success by doing something we all probably think sounds easy. What I didn't really admire was how brutal he was on some of his employees. I get that you want to be struck and every to follow specific protocol, but if your employees aren't happy that can effect your business.

Kroc definitely faced adversity and had to go out and get a lot of things on his own. Going door to door to promote their business was a daily thing for Kroc, and he was doing this for a business that wasn't even his yet. Even though there were two original owner of the restaurant, its no doubt that Kroc is the mastermind behind the whole corporation. Going from one restaurant to over 7500 across 3 dozen countries is truly remarkable and unmatchable. One thing I found confusing however was how the french fries were the most important thing on the menu. I always thought it was the Big Mac that was the main attraction but the way he tirelessly emphasized the importance of marking the trend fries was a bit odd.

If I could ask Kroc two questions my first would be did he switch from president to senior chairman multiple times, and why did you put so much effort into making the fries the main priority. In terms of a hard worker, I don't think theres many people who work harder than Kroc did. Even when it came to low level employees, he made sure every was held on the high pedestal and was ruthless in ensuring that every bring their A game every single day.

15-A Figuring out buyer behavior #2

               Interview Number #1. College student

1.) When you are looking to purchase an item, what matters the most to you?

      - Well I would probably have to say price. If an item is of less quality than another but has a significant decrease in price then I'm willing to get the item of less quality.

2.) What about an item like shoes. Would you be willing to pay a significantly higher price for the exact item you want as oppose to something similar but a lot cheaper?

     - If I really wanted the shoes then yes, but it also depends if the item is for me or for another person. I'd definitely be wiling to pay extra for something for myself.

3.) Do you prefer online or in-person purchases more?

    - Well online definitely has better deals most of the time, but if its an item that could possibly be a fake or a replica then in-person would be the way to go.

4.) What about when it comes to using cash or card?

     - I like to use cash because I feel as if its harder to give someone cash than it is to swipe a card. Also, there's the proof factor that cards supply you with.

5.)  How do you decide if the purchase you made is or was worth it?

-Well I always tell myself if I cant buy it twice and cant afford it, then I ask myself if I "have" to buy this item. If both are a yes then I purchase it.

6.) What about after the purchase?

    - I just tell myself hey, at one point you really wanted this so yes it was worth it. Unless the product or item is far different than what was displayed, this is usually my mindset. Rarely do I return or regret buying things.

                     Interview #2. My mom

1.) When looking to purchase an item, what matters to you the most?

-Price for sure. Actually maybe significance, I've always thought that the gifts meaning is valued a lot more than the price to most people.

2.) What about an item like shoes. Would you be willing to pay a significantly higher price for the exact item you want as oppose to something similar but a lot cheaper?

         - Not at all. If the damn thing is even the slightest in similarity, i'll choose the cheaper one any day of the week.

3.) Do you prefer online or in-person purchases more?

       - In person. I like the experience of talking to people, visually and physically feeling the items I'm interested in. I like to think of shopping as one of my prominent leisure activities.

4.)What about when it comes to using cash or card?

       - No preference for me. Whichever your dad will give me. Ill take pennies if it'll get me what I want.

5.) How do you decide if the purchase you made is or was worth it?

        - I figure if its no value to me, it probably is too someone else. So if i don't like it I either give to someone I know, or donate it to Goodwill. No such thing as a bad purchase to me.

           Interview #3. My Grandma

1.) When looking to purchase an item, what matters to you the most?

           - Well if I'm purchasing something for myself I would say how useful is this item going to be for me. Im not into the flashy things, I like to buy things I need, not want. If its for someone else, I try to my best to get them exactly what they want regardless of price as long as its within reason.

2.) What about an item like shoes. Would you be willing to pay a significantly higher price for the exact item you want as oppose to something similar but a lot cheaper?

         - For me no, for something like a birthday gift to one of my kids or something then i'll pay the higher price.

3.) Do you prefer online or in-person purchases more?

          - I enjoy shopping in general. 10 years ago I would've preferred physically shopping over online shopping. But Im getting older and technology is such burden on making shopping easier especially around Christmas time. So I would have to say online.

4.) Do you prefer paying cash or card?

          - Well since I order basically everything online i'd have to say card.

5.) How do you decide if a purchase you made was worth it? For yourself.

          - As long as I find the item useful I consider it a meaningful and worthy purchase.

                                                          Summary

All in all I found that age has a huge effect or people process of purchase. The younger people are willing to pay more for style while older people pay more more meaning. The middle aged person I interviewed doesn't really care about buying the nicest brand and is doing everything thing she can to save some money. The oldest person I interviewed thinks that if the item whether is expensive or not, will be purchased by her to show meaning the the receiver of the item. If its for her then style or brand doesn't matter as much as meaning.

14-A "Halfway Reflection"

I would say that about halfway through the second week of this course is when I realized that this class would be much different than any college course I had taken before. Unlike most classes that I've attended here or any other university I found myself learning a lot from my classmates. Most professors teach with a specific format that consists of a specific criteria of material that to-say-the-least is vey basic. I find myself intrigued even when I'm challenged in this course because I look forward to comparing my posts from others and only use our blogs as insight and motivation for my career as a businessman. I don't find the assignments very challenging per say, but they definitely require you to really think about all sorts of aspects in daily lives.

As far as giving up, there was one a time period when I was fresh out of high school and didn't really want to enroll at any colleges and I thought I was ready for the workforce. I was discouraged because I was an underachiever in high school and found myself awkwardly conversing with parents at my friends graduation parties after they asked the question "Where are you going to college"? I knew my grades weren't good enough to get into any major university and thought that my academic career was coming to a conclusion. After weeks of my parents convincing me to enroll somewhere I decided to apply for a local community college. Shortly after applying I received my acceptance letter and registered for classes. I hated the college and hated living at home as was about ready to drop out within the first couple weeks. However, it was about the 4th week of my first small semester when I visited Gainesville for the first time for the Kentucky game. I immediately loved the atmosphere and thought wow this is how you do college the right way, but never even fathomed that one day I'd be student at the University of Florida. Shortly before I left to go back to home I saw someone I knew from back home whom I held in high regard. This person who was my age and a student at UF, tried to belittle and somewhat insult me in front of our friends just because my accolades were no match for hers. I remember thinking the whole ride home that all I wanted to do was prove this person wrong. A year and a half later I was accepted into UF with a near perfect GPA. I felt that weekend is when I started to form a tenacious attitude and have maintained it ever since. Over the past month I would agree that my tenacity has increased, but what has increased even more is my ability to be open minded.

To the students enrolling next semester I would say don't think of this as just "work" and appreciate your colleagues feedback and ideas because you'd be surprised how much you can learn from and inspire one another. Look forward to thinking like and entrepreneur and really interview people with the upmost interest in their responses. Its not a very difficult course but It can really help you in the future. Don't let the work pile up on you and set aside time each week to acquire more knowledge for your career in the business field.

12A- Figuring out buyer behavior

 Overpriced Textbooks

Interview #1:

1.)  Do most of your teachers require you to purchase a textbook for their course?

-I would say its about half and half, but sometimes the ones that they say are require aren't really required in order to pass per say, its just an addition to helping you do better in the class.

2.) For the ones that require you to buy one, do you always purchase the textbook?

-Yes, I have financial aid so whatever I have leftover after that I use towards my textbooks, after all they usually do help and I consider most of the textbooks I've bought very useful.

3.) Do you buy straight from the school or do you use another source?

  - Well some of my classes require that you buy a brand new edition that changes every year directly from the UF library, but if thats not the case I usually use chegg or amazon which usually has what I'm looking for.

4.) So you've never decide not to buy a textbook because it was expensive or maybe thought that you could do well without it?

-Nope, ever since I was accepted into UF if there was a required book I purchased it and have had all A's and B's throughout my first three years.

5.) Even though you admit that you cooperate with all required texts for your courses, do you think that the books are overpriced even a little?

-Yes and no, $300 for a book certainly seems kinda steep considering you'll only need it for a couple of months. However I realize that these professors work really hard on this books to ensure you that you have all the course materials at you disposal. Plus, you can always sell the book after you PASS the course.

Interview 2:

1.) Do most of your teachers require you purchase a textbook for his or her class?

    - Yes. I would say about ninety percent of them do.

2.) Do you always buy them?

     - If they have a cheaper option for them on a different website I will, but if thats not an option and I'm forced to pay an absurd price of more than $100, then i'll try to share one with someone in the class or pass without it.

3.) How can you be sure or even risk trying to pass the class without the textbook?\

-They have two options here in Gainesville that really help with situations like that, one is called smokin notes, and the other is study edge. Both for a cheaper price provide you with all the course material summarized up into a small packet that can help you prepare for the exam. I find this very useful and has worked for me over the years.

4.) What about chug or amazon or any websites you may of heard of that offer cheaper prices?

    - Yeah I've used those before, but I find that my classes can be passed without using the required textbook and smoking notes works for me just fine so why would I change...

5.) Has this plan ever backfired on you?

    - Kinda, we had a test on of the books we were required to read and I did very poorly on the test. It didn't cost me my overall grade and I still passed, but I probably should've paid for that one.

Interview 3:

1.)Do most of your professors require you to purchase texts for their class?

-Depends, some semesters all of them do, others maybe one will.

2.) Do you find them overpriced?

    - Hundred percent yes, but their are ways to get them for cheap.

3.) Do you purchase them even if you cant find a cheaper way to purchase them?

    - Ill ask people who've taken the course or use RatemyProfessor which is a website where you can see the difficulty of the course, the style the proffers teaches in, and if you can pass without the text. I find this most helpful for the situation.

4.) Do you ever pay full price for the books?

    - I have a couple of times for my most difficult classes. I probably could've passed without them, but I didn't want to take any chances. I can usually find them on other websites though.

5.) Have you ever regretted not purchasing a textbook because it was too expensive?

    - Yes but only once. During my freshman year in Calc my friends said you could pass buy using study packets and tudors, but I feel like I would've done better with the text considering some questions were EXACTLY the same as question from our textbook. Ever since then, if the classes that   I'm taking are rumored to be difficult ill buy online or from a friend and even from the bookstore if necessary.

                                                                          Summary

It seems that because technology has become so advanced over the years that their are so many alternatives for the aforementioned problem. Many students don't buy the books for full price unless they HAVE too or if they can afford it with no problem. Most students including myself, avoid these prices by using campus resources, tutors, and online options like amazon, eBay, and chegg (Which have the books we need most of the time) to satisfy our scholastic needs.

11-A napkin idea

My name is Ben Rhodes, and ever since I was a young lad I've always been interested in making money. Whether it was selling lemonade in my front yard, hustling kids with bets in the cafeteria, or working a normal 9-5 job in the restaurant industry, making money has always been my motivation. I consider my self a "people person" and think that'll help with my career in sales. For the time being, I've found a solution for residents of Gainesville (More specifically, residents of the Standard apartment complex) that could help save them some money. I currently live in house about a quarter of a mile from the stadium that has a huge lot. I know parking isn't easy to come about here in Gainesville and can be frustrating for residents, which is why I'm considering opening our oversized lot to friends and customers who don't want to pay overpriced parking fees to keep their car close to campus. Me and my roommates have decided that for a small fee of $35 dollars a month they can park at our place and will have a forsake safe and secure spot to keep their car. As opposed to a typical minimum $100 monthly fee that most places in the area charge for a parking spot, we understand that most of us are broke college kids and realize that money is tight and spending an extra 100-150 bucks a month on parking can be stressful. Yes they could take a bus or buy a parking decal that enables them to park within a certain city zone but even that doesn't secure you a for sure spot and is also pricey. But for people who want close and reliable parking close to mid-town and the campus we have a place for you!

I honestly believe that our lot will draw customers. We've already had people park at our place on game day for $20 for just one day, and we have also had almost ten people agree to pay the fee if we go on with the idea. I'm not for certain we'll reach maximum capacity but I am certain that people will appreciate our serve and cooperate.

7A- Testing the Hypothesis

-The opportunity I am presenting is the creation of more parking in Gainesville. Me and my three roommates were blessed with a massive lot that I think could be a major cash crop for us. Gainesville as we all know isn't exactly known for its variety of parking. You either have to pay for a decal or parking spot in most cases unless you own your house or parking spot. What I'm interviewing people about is the opportunity of purchasing a parking spot through us as opposed to a more expensive venture. All five people I interviewed are Gainesville students. 3 pay for parking spots, one is a friend who we let park at our place for free, and the other is a homeowner who has her own driveway and spot.

INTERVIEW ONE: PAYS FOR PARKING AT STANDARD

1. What do you think about your current parking arrangement at your complex?

-Well, financially I don't have to pay for my spot this year my parents are taking care of it, who by the way were dumbfounded when they were told they'd have to pay an extra $150 a month on top of an already pricey rent just so that I have a place to park my car. As for next year they're making me  help with and I presume parking as well.

2. If I told you I were interested in possibly making our property into a mini lot for say 20-25 cars manly for people from Standard complex to defer to for a fraction of the price  say, $30 monthly would you consider switching?

-I'd have to come check out the location you know, see exactly how close it is and if it looks safe. Cant have my car broken into.

3. Is that your main worry? IF not what is?

-Well I mean yeah, the Standard has security and surveillance, not to mention people are always around, so I guess what I'm saying is it would be easier for someone to get ahold of my belongings at your place as opposed to Standard. Not to mention, what if I come there and someone's in my spot and I have no where to park?

4. We would form some sort of document for y'all to sign and for us to keep record of whether its proof of purchase, or the make of your car and license plate, to prevent people who haven't paid from sneaking in.. and yes a tow truck will be enforced. Does this change your mind a little bit?

-Maybe...Maybe what ill do is give it a try next year maybe for the first month or something and see how it goes.

Interview 2: Standard parking spot owner

1. What is your current attitude towards parking at the Standard?

-Well my parents cover my rent and parking so I guess its fine.

2. They were upset or angered by the ridiculous monthly fee?

     - Im not really sure, they didn't say much about it, but then again I didn't really ask either. They did most of the price talking when I wasn't around.

3. You're aware of where I live, If you had to pay for rent and parking on your own, would you consider parking at our place for say $30 a month instead of $150.

-Heck yes! I mean you know I leave my car there sometimes overnight anyways, but I would never pay that much monthly for a dang parking spot! no way.

4. Would there be any issues with security or fear of anything happening to your car at our lot if we decide to go through with this?

-Not really... I mean I've left my car there before multiple times and nothings happened. And nothings happened to any of your cars yet right? so yeah I would definitely be interested in saving money through you guys.

Interview 3: Standard parking spot owner

1. What is your current attitude towards parking prices at the standard?

    - Definitely overpriced but its the best option.

2. If I told you were were opening a lot on our property for say 20-25 people for $30 a month would you consider?

    - That definitely sounds like a good idea but my parents pay for my spot and feel safe with it in the standard parking garage.

3. Even if the bill was in your hands you'd still keep it there?

-Most likely, unless I was really hurting for cash then i'd be forced to resort to an alternative, but as long as my funds were sufficient I would stay in the parking garage mainly because of comfort. Ill sleep better with my car in the parking garage than if it were in your lot.

Interview 4: Friend who we are currently allowing to park in our lot

1. Now I know we're letting park in our lot for free right now, but what if I told you we were turning it into a 20-25 car lot for people who wanna pay less than standards prices say $30 a month?

-Well I'd hope you guys would let me slide for free but I know thats probably a low possibility. But I mean i'd be down. I'd probably tell my dad I have to park at standard for $150 and month, give you guys thirty of it and pocket the rest.

2. So as far a comfort or trust issues with your car in our lot, you have no worries?

No... Ive left my car at your place overnight for almost two months now and nothing has happened. Plus I'm always in and out switching out my car and scooter. I think you guys could make this work.

3. Is there anything we could improve on to make sure your as comfortable as possible?

-You could always install a camera or make the fence more secure and lock it up overnight... But i thinks thats a little overboard but some people may need that extra camera to feel safe and secure with their car staying at your place.

                                              Interview 5: Current homeowner

1. How do you feel about your current parking situation?

    - Well I live in a house so we have a good size driveway that all four cars can fit into, so good I guess.

2. Have you lived in an apartment complex before that charged for parking?

-Yesssssss. The place I lived in before here charged hundreds a month for their "fancy" parking spaces. After months of doing that, I couldn't watch my bank account crumble anymore and went and bought a city decal for like $100 bucks. It was a lot cheaper but you didn't have a reserved spot, it just allowed you to park in certain areas in Gainesville. So must of the time I would park far away from my apartment or even worse not find one and keep driving around until I did which was extremely frustrating.

3. Was this a factor when you decided to live in a house instead of an apartment?

-Oh forsure. That and privacy, I need my privacy and I don't need any unnecessary expenses since I pay for everything on my own.

4. Were thinking about turning our lot into a mini parking lot for people to pay monthly for a way cheaper price than their competitors.. if you were them would you consider?

-Definitely, I looked into local parking garages that were near my apartment but there weren't many, and the ones that were viable were also very expensive.

                                                                Summary
-All in all, It seems the obvious variable here is the impact the parents have on their kids financial needs. This idea of making our own lot available to others, will most likely be directed at a less fortunate group of kids, kids who parents make them pay for everything, or people like interview three who found a way two ways to benefit from our plan. It'll definitely take some serious time and planning but I think were might have something here. For the home game this week were going to put up signs for people to park there during the weekend and use that as kind of a trial run and see what happens.

8A- Solving the problem

-Here in Gainesville parking spots are an issue in terms of limitation. Whether your a student or a  local of Gainesville, you may find it frustrating when trying to find a place to park your car. However I understand that there isn't a lot of available space around the campus and downtown Gainesville (Which are the areas my blog if pertaining to) area for more lots to be built. So, apartment complexes use this scarcity to capitalize on college kids and residents to pay an absurd amount money for either a parking spot, or a parking decal.

-When I moved into my home located off of nw 6th pl this semester (Which I had never seen prior to the actual move in date) I immediately captured an opportunity. Our house, isn't very big but our lot is. It already came with a barbed wire fence surrounding the area for cars and currently can fit roughly 15-18 cars depending on the size in there. Now, thats just me speaking in terms of the sand paved area the designated for cars to park. With a little reconstruction, and minor expansion of our lot, were talking a possible extra 10-12 cars that could fit easily.

- Heres where the real opportunity presents itself. One of my roommates work for the Standards apartment complex which is a brand new apt complex here in Gainesville. Its very nice, and also very expensive. One thing that most people complain about its the over priced cost of $150 monthly parking to have a spot in the garage. Seeing that my house is located no more than a quarter mile away from the complex I sparked an idea. We already have a couple friends who live there and refuse to pay the fee and perfectly content with parking at our place, for now. Its still in the early works, but I think there could be some serious coin in this for me and my roommates. Just throwing a random number out there like maybe $30 dollars a month for a guaranteed spot at our place just might catch the attention of residents at the Standard and maybe other ventures as well.

6A - Identifying Opportunities in Economic and Regulatory trends.

1.) Baby boomers aren't retiring

    A.)https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666

B.) A recent and very important survey shows that over half of workers ages 45-75 are being forced to delay retiring due to the great recession. Because of the recession, baby boomers are preventing millennials from taking their place therefore slowing up the standard career track plan that they originally planned for. Companies hiring rates are lower due to multiple reasons such as keeping their overhead low, remaining flexible in a uncertain environment, and prevention from paying higher healthcare benefits.

C.) I think that even though this is tough situation for younger people it'll allows us to be more creative and innovative in terms of our knowledge of technology which could be our upper hand on creating a new opportunity for the economy just as the creator of snapchat or Facebook did.

D.) The job force is obviously way more competitive than ever before so I cant necessarily say this is will be easy to exploit, but it can most certainly create more job opportunities for people if some technological advancement or discovery requires employers which it most likely will.

- I saw this opportunity when I was reading about how older folks who can afford to retire consider themselves semi-retired are emotionally scarred and are taking longer to retire because of the experience during the recession. This could also be an opportunity to acquire higher degrees to set yourself up for a more successful career since the workforce is so competitive.

2.) Higher stock prices

     A.) https://www.principalglobal.com/knowledge/insights/top-10-economic-trends-2017

B.) Stock have been working really well in the U.S for almost a decade now and continue to maintain legitimacy. Theres a good chance that stock prices will continue to rise in 2018 which creates an opportunity for people to capitalize on their investments.

C.) Companies who are doing well could most certainly create an opportunity for their investors as well as new and upcoming companies who have proved their legitimacy and continue to grow. I know Bitcoin has really blown up over the past year creating a huge opportunity for investors o capitalize their money on as well as other companies to conglomerate and expand their own resources as well.

D.) I think stocks should be very easy to exploit. It seems that most people already have money invested in some sort of stock and could really cash out if they invest wisely.

- I already planned on using one of the two economic trends regarding to the stock market and caught a glimpse of this short article when looking for other ones. It was much of an article, but its probably one of the most important and obvious ones that creates opportunities for everyone.

3.) Cyber threats and cyber risk

   A.) https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/regulatory/articles/banking-regulatory-outlook.html

B.) The New York State department and DFS issued a proposal for banks, insurance companies and other DFS-regulated financial institutions to establish a cybersecurity system and comply with the newer regulated requirements.

C.) Banks and other financial companies will effected with this opportunity when it is implemented.

D.) Cyber threats are becoming a more serious and common problem as the world continues to grow in the technological field. I understand that this is a very serious concern to our government because a cyber attack could very serious to our country and must be avoided at all cost. with that being said, I don't think this will be hard to exploit.

    - I came across this and saw that this one as of the top regulatory trends that was implemented months ago and should become required immediately all over the country because our economy and country is a very technological based country that should have maximum security enforced firewall to prevent cyber attacks of all kinds where that be domestic or not.

   4.) Pipeline integrity and safety

     A.) https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/regulatory/articles/energy-regulatory-outlook.html

B.) Air pollutants remain a serious problem to our country. Some factories emits an excessive and unregulated amount of toxins daily which is a serious threat to our O-zone as well as human health. While officials are trying to make sure every factory is regulated, the other goal is to reduce methane emissions from all existing regulated factories as well was ones that aren't.

C.) Businesses are going to have to increase their expenses to keep up with the regulations. The plan also proposes that pipeline operators change the way they secure and inspect gas pipelines during natural disasters like hurricanes and flooding.

    - This seems to be another common regulatory trends because the government is constantly dealing with improving gas emissions and making sure that they're regulated.

5A- Identifying local opportunities

1.) Power restored to most of Jacksonville, but some remain in the dark.

 - The article talks about how a week after Hurricane Irma residents in Jacksonville still haven't had power restored to their homes. Hurricanes as we know, are a huge blow to the economy and our economic resources whether its the real-estate business or shortage of basic goods.

 - The problem here is expands to everything from flooding to wind and rain destruction. Jacksonville had flood problems that were way more serious than anticipated and is still recovering deeply from this. Even the more expected natural forces like wind and heavy rainfall destroyed peoples homes and power lines leaving citizens homeless and powerless. The real estate economy will be suffer from this as well as resources like gas and water which have risen substantially because of the storm.

- The people of Jacksonville are the ones who affected most by this as some residents still don't have power. For all residents, the price of just about everything has risen and is causing problems for them.

2.)10,000 people in Keys left homeless by Hurricane Irma, governor says.

-The effects of Hurricanes category 4 strength left roughly 10,000 residents in the Florida keys homeless. Residents who were evacuated were given the "ok" to return to their homes down in the keys after the mandatory evacuation only for 10 percent of the residents to realize their homes had been completely destroyed.

-The problem here is that Hurricane Irma was so powerful that it destroyed many homes leaving a lot or residents homeless. Even residents whose home was still standing are waiting for resources like water and power to be restored.

-The problem manly effects the residents of the keys but also effects their relatives because this is such an awful tragedy that left me friends and relatives of the residents in grief.

3.)First lawsuit filed against Hollywood nursing home

-Family members of the victims of a nursing home are pressing charges against the nursing home after 8 lives were lost due to harsh conditions during the process. The report came back and they stated that the victims died due to cardiac and respiratory failure due to a air cooling system  malfunction.
-The victims and victims relatives are affected by this as well as the workers and owners who face the scrutiny.

4.)Family hospitalized for carbon monoxide poisoning
after using generator indoors
     -http://infoweb.newsbank.com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/resources/doc/nb/news/166EF5A6CF07C740?p=WORLDNEWS

-The Hialeah family of four was sent to Mercy Hospital with symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning after a generator was left on near an open window in their apartment Friday morning. Further investigation is on going and all members seem to be recovering ok.
-The Hialeah family are the ones who have the current problem but the manufactures may have problems in the future.

5.)Haitians are going to lose the fight for TPS, and that's OK
      -http://infoweb.newsbank.com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/resources/doc/nb/news/166EF5A6478C2CB8?p=WORLDNEWS
-The end of the temporary protection status for Haitian immigrants is coming to a conclusion in January. This marks the 7 year mark since the deviating earth quake occurred in Haiti and immigrants are trying to appeal the end of their extension.
-Haitian immigrants are battling congress trying to stay in the U.S but will unfortunately probably lose but right fully so. Its been 7 years since the earthquake in Haiti and things are starting to get better allowing the immigrant to come back. The country of Haiti is planning on welcoming back a cadre of Haitian medical professionals, teachers, engineers, accountants, etc. A program to integrate them into the public and private sectors that offered equitable salaries would allow returnees to contribute to Haiti's long-term development. Also, we must acknowledge that extending TPS makes no sense politically when Haiti isn't overwhelmed by a humanitarian crisis, and instead hold the Haitian government to higher standards. Although Hurricane Matthew wreaked havoc on the south of Haiti, Irma skirted its northern coast. Most of the country is safe, stable, and hungry for sustainable economic and social investment.
-The people of Haiti are the ones who are affected by this.

4A- Forming an opportunity belief

I have a belief that Chipotle customers think that more food comes in a burrito bowl than a burrito. Its been a pretty hot topic over the years that people are still indecisive about. I personally think the quantity of food on the bowl is significantly larger than a burrito, however the workers insist  they're proportional and charge the same price for both. With that being said, I decided to interview two students here in Gainesville (20 and 22 for what its worth), and a Chipotle employee.

Interview number one: Student number one
   1. Do you think Chipotle bowls/burritos contain the same amount of food?
            ~ No I do not.

      2. Which of the two do you think has more?
            ~  The bowl for sure.

      3. When did you first notice this?

~ I cant remember exactly, but within the first few trips.

      4.  Have you ever confronted any of the employees about this?

            ~ I have not.

      5. Have you done anything to resolve this? How did you handle this then?

~ I just stick the bowls. If anything I ask for a tortilla in the bowl and roll my own burrito.

      6. Does this bother you at all?

~  Nope, its not worth the argument.

Interview number two: Student number two

   1. Do you think Chipotle bowls/burritos contain the same amount of food?

            ~ No.

      2. Which one of the two do you think has more?

~ I believe the bowls are bigger. I've had leftovers from my bowl one time that I rolled up that was bigger than a burrito I've ordered from there in past. Plus its tougher to roll more so they try to make it "rollable."

      3. When did you first notice this?

~  When I started getting burrito bowls instead. I started off getting burritos and buddy of mine told me to get the bowls they have more food, so I took his advice and haven't changed since.

     4. Have you ever confronted any of the employees?

~ No, I have asked if they can put more on my burrito on the rare occasion when I switch it up.

     5. What if you're in the mood for a burrito but know about this problem? Does it bother you?

~ If anything i'll just take the L, or order a bowl with tortillas on the side.

Interview number 3: Chipotle worker

    1. Do you guys serve the same amount of food in burritos as you do in the bowls?

~ Well technically were suppose to, but I always put more in the bowl so it looks better. If I put the same amount in the bowl as I do the burrito it would look disproportionate.

    2. Has someone ever called out on this?

~  No, sometimes people ask which one has more and I tell them bowls usually have a little more and they switch half of the time. Or some customers who order a burrito just ask for a little more which I have no problem doing to a certain extent.

   3. Do most employees know about this or do the same thing?

~ Yeah, its kinda like a low-key thing that everyone does.

   4. Has a manager mentioned anything about this to you before?

~ No, when they complain about food quantity issues its usually for giving people too much not too little.

   5. Have the managers talked about upping the size of the tortillas to fit more food in there?

~ They had a discussion about making the tortillas and bowls smaller at one point but not bigger. Its that big of deal to people who know about they just get a bowl or tortilla in the bowl or on side. The complaints usually come the they think that there getting less than usual, so we give them a little extra and if they still complain we tell them they can pay for double because that usually the issue.

                                                                 Summary
Overall, most people in our age group are aware of my belief and share the same thoughts. However, its the older crowd, or people who don't go as often as the typical target audience that aren't as aware. Every time I order food for my parents or even grandparents I make sure to tell them about this and they usually change their mind and order a bowl instead. I know most people who read this will already know about this but there are some who don't. I found it kind of odd that he employee was so open about this but I respect him for being honest. This just shows that there are many loopholes in the restaurant business so it would wise to do a little research on some of you're favorite places or new places to see if you're really getting the best bang for your buck.

Entrepreneurship story

My entrepreneurship story in fact is going on right now. Me and one of my friends who also attends UF, decided that we would start making and selling hate shirts for game days here in Gainesville and possibly game day polos as well. The t-shirts seem like they'll be easier and more profitable due to cheap production and hopefully a higher demand for something more unique. We're still in the early stages, but we plan to continue to move forward with our plan and hopefully be up and running shortly!

Secondly, the reason I chose to enroll in this course was to seek basic advice and gain general knowledge of an entrepreneurs mindset. A dream of mine would be to own my own business one day and be my own boss. As for now, there are many things I need to study and learn about the business world to prepare me to the absolute fullest for when the day comes that I enter the business world.

The BUG list

                                                                        20 bugs

1. The time period between when classes start and financial aid drops. These textbook prices, access codes, and adobe downloaders have me eating ramen noodle out here every day with a side of sleep for dinner.
      - this occurs because is takes time for the bursar to acknowledge all the inconveniences that present themselves in the first week or two, on top of the distribution process to every student.

2. Waiting in the line at Chipotle on University at any time time during the day.
This is a product of Chipotle establishing itself as one of the most popular and affordable places to eat. With that being said, a Chipotle located right across from a school with 50000 plus students would likely be crowded at most times.

3. The lack of equipment at the Sw gym
-Like the Chipotle scenario, if youre not waking up at 6 A.M to workout (which I never have) you're likely to run into an overpopulated gym that leads to a wait time for certain equipment.

4. Not enough scooter parking on campus.
      - Im not really sure why there isn't more scooter parking to be honest, there are some areas where you can find a decent amount of parking at busy points during the day, but it seems that the areas where people usually need to park don't have enough space.

5. My toilet that some genius built pretty much underneath my sink.
-This was most likely a product of a sick joke, or the builder just half-assing the assignment but trying to squeeze underneath this thing is probably the mother of all cockroaches in my life right now.

6. Not having unlimited Data for my cell phone.
-This is exists because T-Mobile and other phone companies are always trying to finesse a couple extra bucks when all I'm trying to is load a snapchat when I'm not on wi-fi.

7. Constantly putting oil in my car
-It seems that every other week I need to refill my oil, the mechanic however claim nothing is wrong with the oil tank and that maybe I shouldn't drive as much. hmm....

8. Lack of bars at midtown.
   - These lines at midtown having been looking Sheikra-like lately due to the shutdown of a legendary bar ( RIP Cantina), increased population, and other bar closings.

9. Slow speed limits on campus.
     - Im all for safety especially on a school campus, but 20 MPH really... I understand that this is for the safety of everyone in the area but I can't help to laugh a little bit when I see turtles from lake Alice passing me on the sidewalks.

10.  Headphones falling out of my ear while run.
        - Likely due to cheap quality by Apple and extreme sweat from my ears.

11.  Intense Florida Heat.
      - Not and everyday bug, but definitely this time of year due to Florida being the closest thing ever to the Sun.

12. Crash effect from pre-workout.
      - result from too much caffeine and likely abuse of recommended portion.

13. New music isn't good anymore.
       - It seems that listening to the radio nowadays is pretty much a form of torture, most likely a result of todays society in relation to what they perceive as good music.

14. Uncontrolled work schedule.
      - This is result of lack of employees therefore our schedule requests often deferred.

15.  Decrease of iPhone battery life
-Likely from the product aging and accumulated apps and music.

16.  Rush week for fraternity members.
       - You get to meet some cool guys, but usually you end up talking to a bunch of dudes you don't really care about and most likely won't see again. This a requirement for members to attend.

17. Overcrowded class rooms.
      - Sometimes you can't get into a class your want due to limited space and high demand.

18. unfair Treatment at restaurants for students.
    - Theres no question that when a group of college students dine in at a restaurant, that they're most likely to be treated differently due to an expected lesser tip towards the waiter/waitress.

19.  Chick fil a being closed on Sunday due to owners beliefs.
       - Frustrating because a numerous occasions I've went there and realized a little too late that their closed on Sundays.

20. And most importantly, that the Gator game this Saturday isn't home.
     - Due to our great University getting selected to participate in a special event, most students and teachers will be watching the game through a television as opposed to in person.
