11-A napkin idea

My name is Ben Rhodes, and ever since I was a young lad I've always been interested in making money. Whether it was selling lemonade in my front yard, hustling kids with bets in the cafeteria, or working a normal 9-5 job in the restaurant industry, making money has always been my motivation. I consider my self a "people person" and think that'll help with my career in sales. For the time being, I've found a solution for residents of Gainesville (More specifically, residents of the Standard apartment complex) that could help save them some money. I currently live in house about a quarter of a mile from the stadium that has a huge lot. I know parking isn't easy to come about here in Gainesville and can be frustrating for residents, which is why I'm considering opening our oversized lot to friends and customers who don't want to pay overpriced parking fees to keep their car close to campus. Me and my roommates have decided that for a small fee of $35 dollars a month they can park at our place and will have a forsake safe and secure spot to keep their car. As opposed to a typical minimum $100 monthly fee that most places in the area charge for a parking spot, we understand that most of us are broke college kids and realize that money is tight and spending an extra 100-150 bucks a month on parking can be stressful. Yes they could take a bus or buy a parking decal that enables them to park within a certain city zone but even that doesn't secure you a for sure spot and is also pricey. But for people who want close and reliable parking close to mid-town and the campus we have a place for you!

I honestly believe that our lot will draw customers. We've already had people park at our place on game day for $20 for just one day, and we have also had almost ten people agree to pay the fee if we go on with the idea. I'm not for certain we'll reach maximum capacity but I am certain that people will appreciate our serve and cooperate.

  1. Hey Ben, Im glad that the experiment with game day worked. I see your argument about paying for the decal but you're right it doest ensure your spot. I have this problem a lot as I'm and bartender in Midtown and I scoot to work because I can't ever find parking, and its even worse on game days because some roads are blocked off. How have the keys at standard reacted to their parking issues. They have to pay so much to be in the parking garage.
